7. Starting Over Again

How can I unlove you?

My love is greater than your failures.

If you insist, how can I resist?

Feb. 19, 2014, Wednesday —- (spoiler alert) Filipino movies are known to be cheesy and corny. But from time to time I allow myself to indulge and give in to my jologs side (and I sort of drag friends along, too). France, Dale and I watched Starting Over Again in SM Marikina. As expected, the movie had cheesy quotable quotes such as the ones above. But thinking about it, these lines seemed to stand out because the viewers are able to relate. On another note, there is something predictable about Filipino movies. You can rely that the ending is predominantly, unless it is an Indie movie. But for Starting Over Again, I like how the ending was realistic and not the happy ending that people expect.

P.S. Let us not kill the Philippine cinema. Let’s catch a Filipino movie once in a while 🙂

P.P.S. Hi, Dale! If you are reading this, I hope you got over the ending already! 😉
